Comments: The FBHE cell line absolutely requires fibroblast growth factor (FGF) for survival, which can be supplied in the form of purified FGF or Bovine Pituitary Extract (BPE).

The line is positive for bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVD).

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium:

50 ?g/ml Bovine Pituitary Extract (as a source of fibroblast growth factor )

10%Colorado Calf Serum (Colorado Serum Company cat# CS1334)

Temperature: 37.0°C

Subculturing: Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:5 is recommended

Medium Renewal: Twice per week

Remove medium, and rinse with 0.25% trypsin, 0.03% EDTA solution. Remove the solution and add an additional 1 to 2 ml of trypsin-EDTA solution. FBHE細胞Allow the flask to sit at room temperature (or at 37C) until the cells detach.

Add fresh culture medium, aspirate and dispense into new culture flasks.

Subculture every 5 to 7 days , before 90% confluency.

Preservation: culture medium 95%; DMSO, 5%
